Lost Stop
Zeitgenössischer Jazz ist das Metier des Trios Lost Stop unter der Leitung des Komponisten und Pianisten Ali Hossein Mahdavi. Die Musik hat ihre Wurzeln in modernem Jazz, der freien Improvisation sowie in iranischen rhythmischen und modalen Einflüssen und entwickelt sich durch Interaktion, klare musikalische Vorstellungen und Entscheidungen, die in Echtzeit auf der Bühne getroffen werden.
Lost Stop spielt auf internationalen Bühnen in Europa und darüber hinaus.
Besetzung
Mark Holub – drums
American drummer, composer, and bandleader. Leader of Led Bib, whose work received major international recognition, including a Mercury Prize shortlist and the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award. As a collaborator, he is highly active in the improvised-music scene, bringing intensity, drive, and strong formal awareness to the trio.
Lukas Florian – double bass
Austrian bassist with a wide musical range on double bass and electric bass. Alongside contemporary jazz and improvisation, he has a strong background in metal and heavier music, shaping his sense of weight, timing, and intensity. He has been playing with Ali Hossein Mahdavi for two years and knows the Lost Stop music deeply, shaping the trio’s sound from within.
Ali Hossein Mahdavi – piano, composition
Iranian composer, pianist, and producer with a background in contemporary classical chamber music, active in modern jazz. His work focuses on rich harmony, form, and interaction, moving between composed material and improvisation, and includes collaborations with international musicians.
