DEAE

Flöten, Schlagzeug, Tasteninstrumente, Tonband und Elektronik umfasst das Instrumentarium, das die beiden polnischen Instrumentalistinnen Zofia Ilnicka und Ola Rzepka in ihrem Duo DEAE zum Einsatz bringen. Ausgangspunkt für ihr musikalische Schaffen sind vor allem mittelalterliche Werke von Hildegard von Bingen, die in teilweise komponiertes, zeitgenössisches Improvisationsmaterial umgewandelt und durch die eigene musikalische Empfindung strukturiert und gefiltert werden. Die Gruppe ist unter anderem beim 12. Katowice JazzArt Festival, beim Jazzkaar Festival in Tallinn und bei den Tagen der Neuen Musik in Danzig aufgetreten. Ihre CD, „Lithium“, wurde am 24. Juni 2024 auf dem Label Kilogram Records veröffentlicht.

Bios

Zofia Ilnicka – flutist, composer, improviser. She graduated from the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz in 2016. For many years she has been closely involved in the performance of new and improvised music. She is an artist boldly exploring advanced performance techniques. Involved in many jazz, free-impro and contemporary music projects including Trio_io, Layers, Space Welders, Brzoska Kolektyw, Krakow Improvisers Orchestra. She collaborates with many composers, consulting their works. She draws inspiration from the music of Brian Ferneyhough, Dominik Karski and Steve Reich. She has collaborated with the Landjugendorchester NRW, the Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and the Torun Symphony Orchestra.

Ola Rzepka – percussionist, pianist, composer, performer. Graduate of the Rhythmic Specialty of the Academy of Music in Katowice at the Department of Composition, Interpretation, Education and Jazz, and a scholarship holder of the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen (piano and percussion class). She teaches piano improvisation at the K. Szymanowski Secondary Music School in Katowice, and also conducts original lessons and music workshops. As a composer, she collaborates with director Wojtek Klemm at the Słowacki Theater in Cracow, Germany and Switzerland, among others. She has performed at most Polish festivals of avant-garde, pop, jazz, improvised and contemporary music.
