Imgelem

Solo-Performance auf Klarinetten und Elektronik. Der aus der Türkei stammende Klarinettist Gökhan Arslan sagt Folgendes zu seinem Projekt „Imgelem“:

The concept behind Imgelem, a project that I pursue since 2020, is to explore how my clarinet and a few electronic devices interact. Sometimes they harmonize and sometimes they crash. I am intrigued by the unique sound that the clarinet provides through my breath, and I experiment with transforming it with the help of electronics.

In this solo project, I draw inspiration from the sounds and intervals of the culture of my native Anatolia. I consciously blend the tones and intervals that inspire me, using my own rhythm and melodies. I present these by taking advantage of the infinite possibilities offered by the moment.
